FSA Authorisation and Registration Details
Scarborough Building Society is a Building Society registered under the Building Societies Acts whose principal place of business is Prospect House, Lake View, Eastfield, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, YO11 3WZ.
Scarborough Building Society is a member of the Building Societies Association and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
Scarborough Building Society is entered in the FSA Register, FSA registration number 206062.
We choose to introduce our customers to:
- Legal & General, for the purposes of advising on and arranging life assurance and investment products bearing Legal & General's name.
- Norwich Union, for the purposes of advising on and arranging home insurance and mortgage payment protection products bearing Norwich Union's name
- engage Mutual Funds Limited (eMFL), for the purpose of arranging stakeholder Child Trust Funds.
Financial Ombudsman Service
Scarborough Building Society is a member of the Financial Ombudsman Service Scheme. Details of the Scheme are available on request. Scarborough Building Society also participate in the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
Banking Code
We are pleased to subscribe to the Banking Code, which sets standards of good banking practice, which building societies and banks will follow in their dealings with personal customers. Copies of the Banking Code are available on request from your local branch, Investments Direct, the Society’s Head Office or you can also visit the Banking Code website to download the latest version.
Data Protection
You have a right of access under the Data Protection Act 1998 to your personal information held by us. Please contact our Head Office if you require details. All your personal information will be treated as private and confidential and none of these details will be disclosed to anyone with the exception of disclosure permitted by law.
Complaints
The Society has taken care to ensure that the information provided on this website is correct but no warranty is given as to its accuracy. To ensure that the Society continues to deliver high levels of member care, the Society has devised its own Complaints Procedure.
