More Than 150 People Turn Out For Scarborough Recruitment Events
Press release published on 12 December 2006 by Scarborough Building Society
Dozens of people have so far taken advantage of a major recruitment campaign launched by Scarborough Building Society. The Society’s search for local talent attracted 158 people to two drop-in job sessions last Friday and Saturday and managers are urging more people to take the opportunity to get in touch.
‘We’re delighted with the response we’ve had from people of all ages and backgrounds,’ said Operations Director Andrew Holmes, who is responsible for human resources.
‘However, there is still time for people to get in touch to find out more about what we have on offer and to see what a great place Scarborough Building Society is to work.
‘We have around 15 jobs available and our business is growing and developing all the time, so it’s worth people registering their details.
‘Even if we don’t have a suitable vacancy at the moment, there’s a very real prospect that something will arise in the future.’
Thanks to the ongoing growth and success of the Society – including the recent launch of its new specialist lending subsidiary company called Scarborough Specialist Mortgages in October – it is looking to encourage fresh local talent to grasp the opportunity of roles across the whole business, from sales to IT to finance – as well as front line customer service in branches.
Andrew concluded: ‘It is our aspiration to be an employer of choice, offering great opportunities to people in our local area, and we are delighted to be able to demonstrate this through this major recruitment drive.
‘As an Investor in People, we are committed to offering excellent career development opportunities to our existing people and those joining us for the first time.
‘We’re delighted that members of our community have taken this opportunity to come along and find out more about the exciting packages we have to offer, including fair pay, opportunities for training and career development, recognition for outstanding performance and attractive benefits.’
