Heavenly donation for Little Angels
Children and helpers at the Little Angels Pre-School are polishing their halos with delight at a donation from Scarborough Building Society – a computer to help with their learning.
The computer is a recycled recent Dell model which has been made suitable for teaching the children. Scarborough Building Society has installed over £500 of brand new software, including Windows XP and Microsoft Office. It has also donated a laser-jet printer to complete the package.
Yvonne Spivey, registered supervisor at Little Angels, said: “As part of the foundation curriculum for children, they need to start using IT, as it helps with all areas of their development. At the moment we only have one computer, so this donation will let us offer more opportunities to the children.”
Kevin Moran, IT Director at the Scarborough, said of the donation: “It’s really important for children to be able to access IT at an early age as so much in life revolves round computers. Our donation will help improve access and hopefully spark off a few IT engineers of the future!
