Why Saint Catherine's Hospice?
Saint Catherine's Hospice provides specialist palliative care for adults with advanced, progressive disease, irrespective of diagnosis, across the largest hospice catchment area in England. Saint Catherine's only receives 18% of its annual income from the NHS, with the remainder coming from donations, fundraising and hospice branches. Here are some typical costs for Saint Catherine's:
- 1 pain killing injection £7.95
- 1 bereavement counselling session £25.00
- 1 visit to day hospice £65.00
- 1 domiciliary visit by Hospice consultant £70
- Meals and beverages per patient, per month average £240
- 1 weeks stay on the In Patient Unit, approximately £2,310
What rate of interest will I earn?
You will earn a rate of interest that is shown clearly in the table below. But some of the interest paid to you will be transferred to Saint Catherine's Hospice on 1 May each year. The amount that will be transferred will be 20% of the total value of the interest paid to you. If this percentage is changed at any time, we will write to you and let you know at least 30 days before we make the change.
As an example, if you earned £50 interest on your account on 1 May, 20% (£10) would be transferred to Saint Catherine's Hospice. The statement we send you every year will show you the payments we have made to Saint Catherine's Hospice, which will show as a Debit - Interest Transfer from your account.
